Immaculate reimagined the layout of this bathroom into separate wet and dry zones. The two areas were functionally separated by a subtle difference in elevation and aesthetically demarcated by textural and material changes in the wall and floor finishes. Large-format matte terrazzo ceramic tiles were selected for the floor of the dry zone while the floor of the wet area was covered with anti-skid stone-textured tiles.

Glossy black marble ceramic tiles covering the walls of the shower area from floor to ceiling and the black stone-textured floor visually define a deeply intimate and moody shower enclave.

The vanity area complements this intimate, obsidian enclave with walls and vanity deck drenched in black and gold marble-like tiles to echo the cocooning and relaxing feel of a subterranean spa.

A glass partition shower enclosure was proposed in initial concept discussions and provisions were made for the same. However, the client favoured an open fluid layout upon completion of finishes, realising that the recessed shower area and disciplined tile work were functionally sufficient yet offered a seamless sense of space.

Metallic accents of gold and copper in the tiles and hardware, enhanced by warm artificial lighting, add visual interest to the dark, moody palette.
